Toshakhana case: Court accepts exemption plea of Imran Khan for one day

ISLAMABAD: District and Sessions Court Islamabad has accepted exemption plea from appearance in court for one day by PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Toshakhana case. Arguments could not take place in case being lawyers on strike. Tosha Khana case came up for hearing before court led by additional and sessions judge Zafar Iqbal here.
Counsel for Imran Khan told court lawyers strike is continuing. Imran Khan is not in Sessions Court due to security concerns. He can appear in court though video link. Amjid Pervez advocate counsel for Election Commission told court Imran Khan is not participating in lawyers strike. Attendance of accused in court is must at stage of trial. Counsel for Imran Khan said what haste in Toshakhana case is. It should be dealt as usual. Counsel for EC said it is order of Supreme Court that criminal’s cases should be wrapped up soon. Even accused has not been indicted in this case.
