Islamabad: CEO of tech giant Apple, Tim Cook has said company will donate to relief and recovery efforts in Pakistan after country was devastated by historical floods. He said floods are "devastating humanitarian disasters" and added "our thoughts" are with those who lost loved ones and all those affected.
Torrential rains and flooding have submerged a third of Pakistan and killed more than 1,100 people, including 380 children as United Nations appealed for aid for what it described as an "unprecedented climate catastrophe."
Torrential rain has also triggered flash floods that have crashed down from northern mountains, destroying buildings and bridges and washing away roads and standing and stored crops. Also, noted American model Bella Hadid has raised her voice in this regard. While sharing a clip of people and children stranded in flood on her Instagram account, she wrote, "Finding real ways to help #Pakistan".
Urging her followers, she also penned, "Message me if you have any information please". In video, text is seen in which it has been written, "Children crying after witnessing kids being swept away by floods".
