Three-day Japanese film festival inaugurated at Japan Information and Culture Centre

Karachi: Japan Information and Culture Centre (JICC) will present five Japanese movies in three days in Consulate-General of Japan here. 'Bento Harassment,' 'Mentai Piriri,' 'Finding Calico,' 'The Takatsu River' and 'Pop in Q' are set for event. In inauguration ceremony audience enjoyed screening of 'Bento Harassment' by Rempei Tsukamoto based on story of single mother and her high school daughter who is going through 'rebellious phase.'
Exasperated mother makes 'bentos' (boxed lunches) with messages of love for her daughter every day and eventually their bond deepens. Story is universal tale of mother-daughter love! Deputy Consul-General of Japan ASHIDA Katsunori greeted guests. Discussing basic theme of movie, he said, ''Rebellion is a universal issue, perhaps people in Pakistan can easily understand it and this is comically portrayed in this film. Pakistani people will enjoy this and at same time, they will also get an idea of what it is like in Japanese families and schools''.
