Three terrorists killed, seven nabbed during intelligence-based operations in KP: ISPR

Rawalpindi: Three terrorists were killed and several apprehended in three separate intelligence-based operations (IBO) by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, military's media affairs wing said.

According to statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted two separate IBO in Tank and Dera Ismail Khan on reported presence of terrorists in these areas. ISPR said three of terrorists, including militant commander Jabbar Shah alias Shah Alam were killed following an intense exchange of fire during operation while two others were injured.

"Sanitisation of surrounding areas is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in area," statement said, adding that security forces of Pakistan were determined to eliminate menace of terrorism. In separate statement, ISPR said that seven terrorists were apprehended during an IBO in Miran Shah of North Waziristan.

IBO was conducted based on reported presence of terrorists in area ISPR said, adding that proscribed Hafiz Gul Bahadur group terrorist commander Mehtab alias Lala was also among those arrested. "Apprehended terrorists have been involved in numerous terrorist activities, especially target killings against security forces as well as innocent citizens, and were highly wanted by security agencies. "Locals of area appreciated security forces' operation and assured of their support in eliminating menace of terrorism," ISPR said.
