Peshawar: Security Forces gunned down three more terrorists in Datta Khel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. 

A day earlier, at least six terrorists were killed by troops during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in area. According to military’s media wing, operation was followed by sanitisation of area by security forces, during which three more terrorists were killed after an intense exchange of fire.

Following recent shootout between Security Forces and militant, death toll of terrorists’ surged to nine. Security Forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from killed terrorists, ISPR said.

Locals of area appreciated security forces’ response and expressed their full support to eliminate menace of terrorism from area, read statement.

Slain terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against Security Forces and civilians, ISPR added. With terrorism rearing its head once again in country, civil-military leadership has resolved to accelerate action against perpetrators of terror attacks in country. They, meanwhile, during last National Apex Committee sought national consensus to root out militancy.
