Thousands attend funeral prayer of Minister Abdul Shakoor

Lakki Marwat: People from all walks of life attended namaz-i-janaza of Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor at his ancestral village in Lakki Marwat. Burial took place at minister’s native village Tajbi Khel in Lakki Marwat. He died in horrible accident in Islamabad on Saturday night. Case has been registered over death of Mufti Abdul Shakoor. Case was registered with Secretariat Police Station on complaint of Mufti Shakoor’s friend, Qudratullah. First information report mentions provisions of accidental murder, over-speeding, damage to vehicle.

Mufti Shakoor died on spot after being hit by high-speed vehicle, report states. According to preliminary investigation, vehicle which hit minister’s car was being driven at speed of 110 kms per house while Abdul Shakoor’s car was moving at speed of 30 kms per hour. Minister’s official vehicle was also completely destroyed in accident, FIR added.

Moreover, traffic police has submitted its initial report on accident to Islamabad police chief. As per report, cause of accident was over-speeding. Speed of the double cabin vehicle was high and chance to apply brakes was very low. There was no technical problem with vehicle that hit minister’s car, Motor Vehicle Examiner reported.
