Test run of electric buses today, says Sharjeel

KARACHI: Trial run of electric buses in Karachi will begin today, announced Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon. Routes will be finalised after test run of electric buses, which are completely environment-friendly, he added.
Minister said that PPP is determined to provide state-of-the-art public transport facilities to people of Karachi and we will also provide such facilities to Sindh interior commuters, on which plans and working is underway.
He said our sole mission is to serve people in field of health, education, civic facilities, environment, hygiene and we are working to bring more improvement to working in government departments in order to provide visitors a hassle-free service for resolution of their issues.
In 2021, Sindh Transport Minister Syed Owais Shah launched Pakistan’s first electric bus in Karachi.
Speaking to media after launching ceremony, he said more electric buses will be brought to city’s roads in cooperation with private sector. As many as 100 electric buses will hit road by end of this year, he announced.
