Tessori lauds city’s elite for promoting ‘Urdu’

Karachi: Citizens on visiting Governor House discussed promotion of Urdu literature, mushaira and various fields of arts and other issues with Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori. Governor said Urdu is our national and communication language which has given entire nation boost. He said that organising international mushaira in Karachi is welcome tradition. Head of delegation, Mehmood Ahmad Khan said that city people are determined to organise international mushaira, in which poets from abroad including Pakistan are participating. Haji Rafiq Pardesi, Prof. Ijaz Farooqui, Jamal Azhar, Faheem Siddiqui, Syed Turab Shah and Khalid Shamsi among participants.
Meanwhile Governor earlier participated in closing prayer of 3-day Tablighi gathering held in Sanghar, Abdul Haseeb member of coordination committee of United National Movement accompanied him. Special prayers were offered for complete end of terrorism from Pakistan, including development and solutions to problems of oppressed Muslims around world.
He said that religious gatherings have become hallmark of Pakistan, large number of Muslims from country and abroad participate in them. He said that all political parties should sit together and think for improvement of economic and political situation of Pakistan. In response to question, he said that elections should be held at time given in Constitution and judicial decisions should be implemented according to procedures mentioned in Constitution.
Moreover, Governor grieved over death of senior journalist Rafiq Ansari. Late Rafiq Ansari was very professional journalist, he had rendered significant services especially in sports reporting.
