Tessori congratulates Thai nation on National Day, vows to expand ties

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that trade, diplomatic and cultural relations between Pakistan and Thailand are stable, but there is need to expand them further. Speaking to reporters on National Day dinner organised by acting Consul General of Thailand Siripon Tantipanyathep at local hotel he congratulated acting Consul General and people of Thailand.

Governor said that number of Pakistanis visit Thailand tourism sites. We want Thai citizens to visit Pakistan and enjoy Pakistani tourism. Siriporn Tantipanyathepsaid that relations with Pakistan are increasing. I have just posted here last week. I want to improve relations between two countries during my stay here.

Former Governor Muhammad Mian Soomro, CM special assistant Tariq Khan, Honorary Trade Adviser of Thailand in Pakistan Arif Sulaiman, diplomats of various countries, dignitaries of city and number of Thai residing in city participated.

National Anthems of both countries were also played, while cake was cut to mark Thailand’s National Day. Arif Sulaiman said that trade volume between two countries is 400 billion dollars, while in previous years trade volume was decreased to 2.2 million due to Corona. Tourism has increased and we want to increase trade volume. He said that about one lakh Pakistani tourists visit Thailand every year and this tendency is on increase.
