Tessori assures Naeemur Rehman of all help for sit in

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori telephoned ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and offered all possible support for sit-in participants outside Governor House.

He said that if anything is needed for sit-in participants, I will definitely do so. Just tell me. Governor said to Hafiz Naeemur Rehman that he will send his greetings to JI amir Pakistan Sirajul Haque.

Jamaat Islami holding sit-in in front of Governor House to protest against inflated petrol and power prices and price hike. Sit in is led by Naeem.

“JI sit-in will also express solidarity with oppressed Muslims of Palestine,” party spokesman said.

Protest camp has been installed and participants reached Governor House in rally. Containers have been parked around place.

“We will stage sit-ins in front of governor houses in all four provinces and observe wheel-jam strike along with traders and transporters, if government refused to reduce electricity bills,” JI Karachi amir said.

“When government purchases expansive electricity itself, why it shifts its burden on general public,” JI Pakistan amir Sirajul Haq in statement said.

He castigated power agreements with independent power producers. “We will gather details of these contracts and will challenge them in Supreme Court,” Siraj said. He claimed that government intends to hike electricity price to 90 rupees per unit.
