Terrorist groups to be dealt with iron hands: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said any malicious bid to create chaos in country through terrorism will be crushed sternly. “State will not bow down before any terrorist group or organisation”, he said this in a statement issued here. PM has strongly condemned terror acts in Bannu and other areas.

He said terrorists will be dealt with as per law and Constitution. External facilitation and hideouts of terrorists will be curbed.  He said basic responsibility of law and order lies with provinces. Federation cannot close its eyes. He said increasing capacity and efficiency of provincial government is important in eradication of terrorism and federal government will assist in improving professional capacity of counter-terrorism departments in al provinces.

He said federal government will work with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to revamp its Counter Terrorism Department. Prime Minister said we will meet all requirements of armed forces and including provision of modern and sophisticated weapons and imparting professional training.

He paid rich tribute to armed forces fighting against terrorism for their resolve and determination adding sacrifices rendered by martyrs will not be allowed to go waste.

National Action Plan will be fully implemented to eliminate terrorism, he underlined.
