Terrorism fails to undermine education sector’s resilience: CM Maryam

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has affirmed that the country has successfully fortified its education sector despite the challenges posed by terrorism.
In her message marking the International Day to Protect Education, she emphasized the resilience of the educational system and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing education for all. “Islam places a high value on acquiring knowledge, as highlighted in the Holy Quran,” she stated, underscoring the significance of education in improving quality of life and creating opportunities for progress. CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted that literacy is essential for a prosperous future, and achieving a 100 percent literacy rate remains a key objective. She noted that, while many nations have suffered setbacks in their education sectors due to terrorism, including the tragic December 16 attack, Pakistan’s education system has shown remarkable resilience. The Punjab government is implementing groundbreaking measures to ensure greater access to education and is prioritizing the security of educational institutions to safeguard students and staff. Maryam Nawaz pledged ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and integrity of schools across the province, ensuring that educational progress continues unimpeded by threats of violence.
