Technical, vocational varsity to be set up in Saudi Arabia for expatriates: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi said that Pakistan with cooperation of government of Saudi Arabia would establish technical and vocational university for Overseas Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia.

He said that Saudi Arabia is home of some 2.3 million Pakistanis who were working and living there for long time. Turi reiterated that Overseas Pakistanis are playing key role in development of Pakistan hence, development of welfare of Pakistanis is paramount and it is considered to be priority of present government.

He said that technical institutes would be established at local level rest of country to train people who are interested foreign job in different fields.

He said that already Pakistan training workers to meet requirement of international labour market to earn maximum remittances. He elaborated that with collaboration of OPF facilitation desk would be established in order to resolve issues of Pakistanis and their dependents.

To a question, he said that overseas Pakistanis would not be deprived of voting rights. A new plan is being created where constituents will be selected to represent them in Parliament, he added. He underlined that series of projects have been launched for prosperity and development of country and Overseas Pakistanis.
