TDAP willing to extend support to PCA

Karachi: A five-member delegation of Pakistan Coating Association (PCA) headed by Chairman Siraj Uddin discussed indutry matters with Zubair Motiwala Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Referring to State Bank policy on exports to Afghanistan, Motiwala said dollars required in advance from Afghan businessmen is mandatory due to non-availability of dollars in Pakistan. He suggested that Pakistan Coating Association should become member of Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This will keep PCA members updated on Afghanistan trade and business insights.
For enhancement of coating industry’s exports to Afghanistan, he suggested arranging warehousing facility at Torkham and Chaman borders and renting out to exporters of coating products to display their products. Relating to banking issues in Afghanistan, he stated that eventually it will be resolved sooner or later.
Zubair emphasised and proposed PCA delegation to focus on CIS and African markets realising their potential, also apprised that coating exporter should comply with product certification initially, as CIS states are rigid on it. In context to marketing and promotion of coating exports, PCA initially should arrange seminars (cost savings) and then move ahead gradually, he added.
In regards to PCA’s participation in international trade events, Zubair apprised delegation of upcoming Uzbekistan Trade Exhibition in February 2023. He agreed to extend support and cooperation for further enhancement of coating product’s exports.
Siraj Uddin briefed composition of major manufacturing sectors which comes under Pakistan coating industry. He requested TDAP authorities for facilitating PCA members for their participation in international trade events. Muhammad Yousuf ex-senior Vice Chairman of PCA asked for TDAP’s export methodology to enhance exports of PCA member industries and their willingness to participate in TDAP’s associated international exhibitions and seminars.
Musa Yahya Baghpatee, Executive member requested effective guidelines by TDAP to promote exports of coating industry. Abid Taqi member of PCA requested TDAP for certification details of coating products. Shafqatullah Siddiqui Director General TDAP satisfied PCA delegation, promised to provide unlimited services for promotion and enhancement of coating export products. Usman Umer and Iftekhar Rahat also attended meeting.
