In Lodhran's National Assembly constituency, the PML-N and the IPP have failed to reach a consensus for a seat adjustment deal.
Jahangir Tareen intends to contest the NA-155 (Lodhran) election under the IPP's banner, featuring the party symbol 'falcon,' as per sources within the party.
The electoral contest for NA-155 will witness Jahangir Tareen representing the IPP and PML-N's Siddique Baloch as candidates. Initially, as part of the seat adjustment arrangement, the PML-N had agreed not to field a candidate against Tareen in Multan's NA-149.
Recent sources suggest that Tareen communicated to the PML-N his intention to remain in contention for the NA-155 seat in Lodhran and not yield ground.
Earlier reports indicated that Siddique Baloch, an aspiring candidate for the PML-N ticket and a seasoned member of the party, declined to withdraw from the seat to support the IPP leader.
