KABUL: A suicide attack at an education institute in Afghan capital Kabul killed at least 19 people and wounded dozens, police said, but there was no immediate claim of responsibility for blast.
Many of those living in western area where blast occurred are Hazara, an ethnic minority targeted in past attacks. Kabul police spokesperson Khalid Zadran said official toll was 19 people dead and 27 wounded. He said attack took place at an education institute where an entrance exam was taking place.
Schools are usually closed in Afghanistan on Fridays. It was reported that suicide attacker killed security guards in alley and at gate of educational centre and injured two officials inside with small arms fire.
