Sugar, eatable prices continue to skyrocket across country

ISLAMABAD: Price of sugar continues to increase in different cities of country as sugar price also jumped to Rs 6,000 per 50 kg bag in month in wholesale market. In Faisalabad, sugar price increased from Rs 130 to Rs 135 after an increase of Rs 40 per kg.

Price of sugar has increased by Rs 20 in Hyderabad whereas it has gone up to Rs 120 in wholesale market and Rs 130 per kg in retail in Karachi. On other hand, in Peshawar, sugar price has increased by Rs 35 to Rs 125 per kg in two weeks and price of molasses has been increased by Rs 20 to Rs 150 per kg. In Quetta, one kg sugar is being sold at Rs125 and in suburbs at Rs 130 per kg.

On other hand, normal quality ghee is available in Peshawar at Rs 450 to Rs 490 per kg, while chicken is being sold at Rs 380 per kg with an increase of Rs 65 per kg in two weeks.

In Peshawar, prices of fruits have also recorded an increase, with kino being sold at Rs 500 per dozen, strawberry at Rs 400 to Rs 450 per kg, melon at Rs 120, watermelon at Rs 70 and guava Kohati at Rs 400 per kg.
