RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that power tariff would go up after loan deal while withdrawal of subsidies would put additional burden on poor people.
Lamenting over high inflation, decline in remittances and exports, he said overseas Pakistanis were dissatisfied with government. Upcoming elections would be decisive for politicians and ruling coalition would face political crisis, he said in twitter message.
AML Chief said government secured the loan deal with International Monetary Fund when tenure of "Visiting actors" was nearing its ends. He said ruling partners wasted whole year while claiming to have "Plan B and Plan C", but in reality, they had no viable plans at all.
He said Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates had granted generous sum of $ 3 billion at nod of someone else as no one was ready to trust them. "Whenever they visit any country, people label them as beggars," Ahmed said. Lashing out at Prime Minster Shehbaz Sharif, AML Chief said premier spent his day by delivering speeches and making photos. Sole achievement of Shehbaz Sharif's 15-month government was first installment of $ 1 billion loan from IMF, he quipped.
World and IMF respected voice of people, he said, adding that design for disbursement of loan in three installments was made way that ensures elections in country.
Repayments have increased six-folds from Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves, he said. He said PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari had chosen silence and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's US trip was not coming to an end.
He said PDM Chief Fazlur Rahman was also fed up. He slammed ruling partners for their claims that they put their politics on stake for state, saying, "Despite fact that they have saved themselves from corruption and money laundering cases".
