ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that his party wanted negotiations with government (on impasse on elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) to be successful but at same time contended that it had “Strategy” in place if talks failed.
“PTI wants success of negotiations [with government], but it has formulated strategy in case of failure,” former minister tweeted.
“It is not possible for PTI to sit silently if Constitution is considered as piece of garbage and public as insects,” he said, calling on people to prepare for “Movement”.
“Movement is starting today with rallies in Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar, culminating into historic long march,” Fawad added.
Talks between government and PTI commenced earlier this week on advice of Supreme Court. Development was seen as breakthrough in weeks-long deadlock on elections between ruling coalition and opposition. After two rounds of talks, parties are now expected to hold final round of negotiations on May 2.
However, it seems Tuesday will be tough day for PTI and government negotiators, with former seeking dissolution of assemblies before May 14 and latter appearing in no mood to entertain this demand.
