SSUET organises Job Fair, well attended by employers, students

KARACHI: Centre for Guidance Career Planning and Placement of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) organised Job Fair 2023 at campus in which more than 102 renowned companies of town participated and set up their stalls to facilitate students in terms of sharing information and preparing them for availing job opportunities. Around 110 projects were put on display. Event was attended by Syed Wajid Hussain Vice President KATI, Maheen Salim Vice President KATI and Siraj Khilji Convenor Guidance Centre including number of students, faculty and KATI members.

Noman Ahsan Director General Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Abdul Badih Al-Dada, Director OIC, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice-Chancellor SSUET Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, General Secretary of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association Muhammad Arshad Khan, Registrar SSUET, Syed Sarfraz Ali, Dean Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Chairman Computer Engineering Department and Director Guidance Centre Prof. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed and others inaugurated Job Fair 2022 by cutting ribbon.

Faraz ur Rehman said that careers fairs are useful for range of students and give large companies much-needed time to present themselves and recruit new people. Employers meet, inform and interview hundreds of potential applicants, while job seekers get chance to display their skills and make important connections with potential employers, mentors and peers.

Jawaid Anwar said that career fairs provides students with chance to meet employers face-to-face, to learn about current vacancies and opportunities available and to market themselves to prospective employers. Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said Job Fair is like speed dating for recruiting. At set time and place, companies and job seekers meet and try to find out if they’ll match. Job Fair can be considered as form of public relations for company and students should take advantage of this opportunity and convince industries with their skills.

Muhammad Arshad Khan said that aim of Job Fair is to provide an opportunity to employers from diverse sectors to meet and interact with our students to discuss upcoming employment and internship opportunities

Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali said that event allows job seekers to learn more about potential employers and opportunities available.

Prof. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed said that purpose of holding this Job Fair was to facilitate students to meet potential employers in an informal setting.
