SSU meeting on Pak-England test match security held

Karachi: A security coordination meeting was held at SSU headquarters to review security on commencing cricket match between Pakistan and England to be played at National Stadium Karachi.
Security arrangements were reviewed before start of match. Meeting was chaired by DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Dr. Maqsood Ahmed.
All stakeholders including senior police officers, Pakistan Army, Sindh Rangers and senior officials of PCB attended meeting.
DIG Dr. Maqsood was briefed about security arrangements and informed that security division officials including SSU commandos, district police, traffic police and special branch officials are to be deputed at National Stadium, Karachi Airport, roads, hotels, practice ground and other places. They will perform security duties while expert marksmen will be deployed at sensitive locations.
DIG Security vowed to provide foolproof security to teams and spectators and directed that all possible means be used to ensure peaceful conduct of match.
