KARACHI: Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar announced that Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) collected Rs 126.8 billion during first seven months of financial year 2023-24, compared to collection of Rs 94.6 billion during same period in previous financial year of 2022-23.

This represents significant revenue growth of 34 percent. SRB has been committed to excelling in task of tax collection, even during challenging economic times, interim CM said.

According to statement issued by CM House, SRB collected Rs 18.3 billion during January 2024, compared to Rs 14.3 billion collected during January 2023, showing growth of over 28 percent.

Success of SRB in achieving revenue growth is attributed to continued trust and cooperation of SRB taxpayers, support of government of Sindh and tireless efforts of SRB officers and staff.

Despite adverse factors such as low economic growth and stagnant tax base, SRB is focused on achieving assigned revenue target of Rs 235 billion for current year of 2023-24.
