Sports week concludes at Hamdard University with pledge to create more physical activities for youngsters

KARACHI: The week-long activities of sports have concluded here at Hamdard  University, Karachi on Friday. Seven faculties along with their respective teams played different indoor and outdoor games where 3000 students have participated. 

Hamdard University Chancellor Madam Sadia Rashid attended the concluding ceremony of the sports week as a Chief Guest along with other guests Pakistan National Hockey Team, Pakistan’s Test Cricketer Mir Hamza and renowned Sports Journalist Syed Yahya Hussaini were also present at the event.  While addressing to the ceremony Madam Chancellor said that co-curricular activities were necessary for students along with academic activities. She also presented one million rupees to Pakistan Hockey Team as a token of appreciation for securing 3rd Position in Azlaan Shah Hockey Cup.

While acknowledging the efforts of participants and organizing team, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Syed Shabib ul Hassan said,  “We should create more opportunities for the young generation to showcase their collective talent and to promote healthy lifestyle through physical activities.”

 He further appreciated the enthusiasm of the students of Hamdard University and stated that such activities would surely bring good spirit to the society as a whole. Dean of faculties, teachers and a large number of students participated in the event where prizes were distributed among the students who won various competitions.
