Special Committee expresses displeasure against Secretary Aviation, PIA CEO

KARACHI: NA Special Committee on Sacked Employees headed by MNA Qadir Khan Mandokhail with reference to 32 PIA employees expressed displeasure against Secretary of Civil Aviation Division for his failure to comply with directions as well as failure to attend meeting. Hence, Committee recommended issuing show cause notice to CEO PIA as well as Secretary of Civil Aviation Division.

 Secretary of Civil Aviation Division shall personally attend next meeting to be held on December 12 along with implementation of previous recommendations otherwise summons will be issued to him. Committee also directed Secretary of Interior and Director General FIA to issue circular across country to avoid arrest of more than 800 employees of PIA and seizure of their bank accounts.

 Show cause notice was also issued against Director (HR) FIA for failure to convey directions of previous meeting of Committee to DG FIA. Committee expressed displeasure with failure of Secretary Ministry of Interior to attend meeting and directed to issues show cause notice for failure to attend meeting.

Application of Habib, ASI and list of 32 other employees was handed over in original with direction to submit report within three days.  Committee held its meeting in Islamabad on December 6 in Parliament House with reference to PIA employees terminated on misinterpretation of court orders and political victimisation by CEO of PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik. About 32 employees were dismissed/terminated from service on false and misinterpretation of court orders and their bank accounts were seized while these employees were recruited and employed in PIA on genuine documents as advertised by PIA from time to time. They had served airline for more than 15 to 31 years and delegated and imparted their duties in true spirit.
