Speakers at Hamdard Foundation event highlight Sept 6 valor, unity of Armed Forces, nation

KARACHI: Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, in collaboration with Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Karachi: Board Qaumi Virsa-o-Sakhawat Division, Government of Pakistan organised thought-provoking session of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Karachi Chapter, presided over by Sadia Rashid President HFP at Mazar-e-Quaid Audio Visual Hall on ‘Difa-e-Watan, Baqa-e-Watan.’
Meeting w celebrated September 6 Defense Day, to pay deep respect to martyrs and to show support for country’s armed forces.
Seakers highlighted sacrifices of brave soldiers and pivotal role of Pakistan’s armed forces in preserving peace and safeguarding nation’s borders. Speakers reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to serve Pakistan.
Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi Vice Chancellor of NED University as chief guest and Abdul Aleem Sheikh, Secretary/Resident Engineer of Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board participated as guest of honour. Syed Muhammad Arsalan Director of HFP also attended. Moderated event was my Dr. Sana Ghori Manager Programmes and Publications HFP and Muhammad Mubeen Mughal, Speaker of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly.
Sadia Rashid recalled proud and significant moments associated with September 6 Youm-e-Difa. “It is when our courageous and determined armed forces set exceptional examples of bravery, valor and sacrifice for motherland. They valiantly defended nation’s borders on September 6, 1965, momentous day in our national history,” she said.
She said, “During that time, ordinary Pakistanis also stood as defenders of their country alongside armed forces. Entire nation bravely rallied and thwarted against enemy’s invasion. Memories of Youm-e-Difa go beyond valor displayed on frontlines; they encompass spirit of sacrifice, dedication to faith and achievements of our soldiers.”
“Defense Day serves as reminder of unwavering high morale of our entire nation, unity of our people and memory of our martyred soldiers. It is testament to enduring spirit of solidarity,” she concluded.
Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi emphasised importance of rekindling same enthusiasm, hope, inspiration and optimism that were originally experienced by Indian Muslims upon creation of Pakistan.
“Defense Day holds great significance as it reminds us of unity we displayed as nation during 1965 war. We must reignite same sentiments to achieve unity as nation because only through unity we can guide our beloved country towards path of development and prosperity,” he said.
Abdul Aleem Sheikh expressed appreciation on children’s enthusiasm. He acknowledged significant social service being carried out by Sadia Rashid Hamdard through Naunehal Assembly.
Quoting Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, he emphasised importance of nurturing younger generation as key to making Pakistan prosper.
Young speakers from various schools highlighted Defense Day and armed forces of Pakistan bravely confronted cunning enemy on multiple fronts. People of Pakistan played crucial role by providing morale support.
Students from KVTC School performed national song. Asif Ilyas and his colleagues presented specially arranged tableau on topic. Later distribution ceremony of gifts and certificates to children was held. Dua-i-Said presented by students from Hamdard Public School and Hamdard Village School.
