KARACHI: Federal Information Minister, Murtaza Solangi, and Sindh Minister for Information, Minority Affairs, and Social Welfare, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, held a joint press conference yesterday at the Sindh Assembly Building Committee Room.

During the conference, Ahmed Shah welcomed Murtaza Solangi, expressing the intent to maintain continuous communication with media friends regarding the performance of both federal and provincial governments. The press conference serves as a step in this direction

Murtaza, in his remarks, congratulated Muhammad Ahmed Shah on assuming the responsibilities as Provincial Information Minister. He highlighted the potential benefits the services of Ahmed Shah in literature, culture, and social welfare could bring, emphasizing the need for collaborative practical wisdom.

Solangi stressed the importance of conducting elections on schedule, citing it as the right of the people to choose their representatives. In response to a question, he clarified that declaring trust and expressing distrust are distinct matters, and discussing fielding levels is part of politics.

Regarding a question about Radio Pakistan, Murtaza Solangi mentioned that the Gulshan Iqbal building is new, functional, and adheres to the principles of modern infrastructure. Provincial Information Minister Muhammad Ahmed Shah emphasized the directives of the Chief Minister of Sindh to enhance government ministers’ awareness of their departments’ performance.

He stated that each minister would hold daily press conferences to keep the public informed about their department’s functioning. Ahmed Shah asserted that improving departments’ performance is a shared responsibility and highlighted the role of the Information Department in facilitating communication between media and departments.
