SMIU observes World Amateur Radio Day

KARACHI: Sindh Madressatul Islam University’s (SMIU) Character-Building Society (CBS) observed World Amateur Radio Day by organising an awareness session. Pakistan Amateur Radio Society’s (PARS) Karachi Chapter included Muhammad Salman, Kashif Mukhtar, Rehan Ali, Jawaid Mughal and Taimur Mughal attended. SMIU’s faculty and students also attended event.

Basit Hassan Patron of Character-Building Society and faculty member of SMIU emphasised upon importance of good character in nation building. He said World Amateur Radio Day is being observed worldwide on April 18 every year. This year’s theme was “Human Safety for All.”

He said that operators of amateur radio can help people in any emergency situation by communicating with other people through amateur radio service.

Muhammad Salman, Regional Coordinator for PARS, said PARS is dedicated to promoting use of Amateur Radio as hobby as well as to prepare amateur radio operators in case of disaster and an emergency.
