Karachi: All the officials, including the President, Secretary and Executive Committee of the Sports Journalists Association Sindh (SJAS), in a joint statement, congratulated Syed Haider Hussain, a young and dynamic man of Sindh, for being elected as the Secretary General of the Pakistan Hockey Federation for the second time. Earlier, Olympian Akhtar Ul Islam, from Sindh, has carried out this responsibility.

SJAS President Asif Khan said that Haider Hussain had given new life to hockey at the grass-roots level in Sindh and proved his mettle at the provincial level. He is an example of how he injected new life into hockey, this is the reason why the Sindh Sports Department named him as the Hockey coordinator.

SJAS Secretary Shahid Usman Saati said that Hockey needed an hardworking and honest person, like Haider Husain, for the survival of the declining national sport. He will not only play his role to bring back the lost position of the green shirts at the international level, but will also ensure the formation of the national team on the basis of merit.

Meanwhile the executive committee of SJAS said that the confidence of PHF Congress members is evident in the unopposed election of Haider Hussain and actually a recognition of his services at the national level. It is hoped that the newly elected secretary, with the skills of a "one-man army", will take everyone along.
