Rawalpindi: Army killed 6 terrorist in South Waziristan during an intelligence based operation. According to ISPR, security forces conducted an IBO in general area Kot Azam, South Waziristan District on reported presence of terrorists.

During conduct of operation, intense fire exchange occurred between security forces and terrorists, resulting in killing of 6 terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed terrorists who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and targeted killing of innocent citizens.

Sanitisation of area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in area. Locals of area appreciated operation and expressed their full support to eliminate menace of terrorism.

In another incident, two soldiers, one policeman and a civilian embraced martyrdom in suicide attack in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan. According to Inter-Services Public Relations, vehicle full of explosives and suicide attacker exploded in Datta Khel, North Waziristan and resulted in death of Naik Saidullah Shah, Sepoy Jawad, Police Constable Hakeem Jan and an innocent civilian.

Pakistan Army media wing stated that main target of suicide vehicle was public gathering but swift action from armed forces saved huge loss of life in public gathering. Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate menace of terrorism from country and such sacrifices further strengthen our resolve.
