Six security personnel martyred after militants storm energy plant in Hangu

HANGU: Six people four frontier constabulary and two private security company personnel were martyred after terrorists stormed an energy plant in Hangu district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) near Afghan Border.
According to Deputy Superintendent Police Irfan Khan, attack took place early in morning, adding that martyred personnel fought bravely with terrorists for more than two hours. “Attack by up to 50 terrorists took place at plant run by MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company,” said Irfan.
DSP added that heavy contingent of police and Frontier Corps reached area and initiated search operation. No group has claimed responsibility and company did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment from Reuters.
Attack comes months after two policemen and Rangers man were among four people martyred, while 16 others sustained injuries, when terrorists, wearing suicide vests and carrying automatic weapons and grenades stormed Karachi Police Office.
