Sirajul Haq advises govt to step back from red line, hold elections

Lahore: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq advised government to step back from their red line and hold elections as it is only way to bring political stability to Pakistan. Speaking to private TV channel, Sirajul Haq said, “90 day time has already passed and according to Constitution government must hold an election.
“As stakeholder, Jamaat-e-Islami wants to participate in elections,” Sirajul Haq said. Sirajul Haq said that politicians and ruling government must follow constitution, adding that clashes with institutions will never be beneficial for anyone.
He said that as citizen and party responsible, he is making efforts and three institutions must remain impartial; otherwise, it will be difficult to save democracy and politics. JI Chief said that decisions related to fate of nation cannot be taken behind closed doors. He added that JI wants peaceful elections as country belongs to whole nation but not to single political party.
