Karachi: Sindh government showed consent to hold Local Government (LG) polls in 16 districts of province except for two tehsils of Dadu district.  Sindh government has informed Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) through letter penned by Hyderabad Commissioner.

Letter states that due to floodwater in Khairpur Nathan Shah, Mehar LG polls cannot be held in these two tehsils of Dadu district. Sindh government has requested ECP to suspend election schedule in area.

Meanwhile, Election Commission of Pakistan has fixed hearing of Karachi Local Government polls case. Election Commission of Pakistan will also hear case related to appointment of district administrators in Karachi. Commission issued notices to Sindh government, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan and Jamaat-e-Islami ahead of hearing.
