Sindh launches inquiry into MDCAT ‘paper leak’

KARACHI: Sindh’s caretaker government launched an inquiry into reports that contents of question paper of Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) held on September 10 were leaked beforehand. Six-member inquiry committee held its first meeting to fix responsibility.
Caretaker Health Minister said that investigation into matter will be concluded as soon as possible. “Culprits responsible for act will be identified and they will be dealt with strictly,” he vowed.
Committee will furnish its report to Secretary Health Department within one week.
Other members include Registrar of Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Additional Secretary of Sindh Universities and Boards Department, Deputy Secretary of Sindh government’s Services Wing, grade-18 official representing cybercrime director of Federal Investigation Agency and Deputy Secretary (technical) of Health Department. Earlier, Peshawar High Court ‘withheld’ release of Medical and Dental College Admission Test result.
According to details, students who appeared in MDCAT filed plea in Peshawar High Court alleging use of Bluetooth device for cheating purpose during test. Court temporarily withheld to release result of MDCAT test and adjourned hearing till next hearing which will be held on September 21.
