Karachi: The provincial health secretary Sindh Mr. Rehan Iqbal Baloch has sheltered the corrupt officials and employees of the department who have committed mega corruption.

Despite the number of complaints and media reports, the health secretary never took any notice nor any stern departmental action was witnessed during his tenure due to reasons best known to him, sources told this scribe.  There are many cases on record including mega corruption scandals of outgoing MS services hospital Karachi Dr. Ashiq Ali Shaikh, accountant Wahabullah Yousufani, MS civil hospital karachi Dr. Khalid Bukhari, accountant Mr. Sanjay, MS Sindh government hospital liaquatabad and his store incharge Mr. Anwarul Haq, accountant Sindh government Qatar hospital Mr. Arif and many more, sources told.

Inquiries were initiated at the lower level but couldn't get nodes from secretary health Mr. Rehan Iqbal Baloch for reasons best known to him. These corrupt officers take the health secretary onboard before committing misdeeds and that's why no action was ever witnessed against those despite availability of undeniable evidence, sources claimed. In these circumstances, most often the health secretary also misguides the health minister on matters of public health.

The health secretary has failed to bring any betterment in the department by any means. He never paid surprise visits of hospitals in the province allowing officials to do corruption without fear of any action, sources further told.  The health secretary was contacted for his version by this scribe but he didn't reply.
