KARACHI: Sindh government again penned letter to Election Commission of Pakistan for immediate election of mayors and deputy mayors, following culmination of LG polls in Sindh.

In letter penned to Election Commission of Pakistan, PPP-led Sindh government has said that process of LG elections in province has been completed. “Sindh government wants immediate election of mayors and deputy mayors.”

Implementation of Article 140A is responsibility of Election Commission of Pakistan. ECP has been urged to take steps in this regard, letter said. Party position was released by Election Commission of Pakistan after re-poll results in 15 districts of Sindh during LG polls. Polling in the first and second rounds of local bodies’ elections was stopped in various districts of Sindh. After re-poll in remaining constituencies, ECP on Monday issued party position.
