Karachi: Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon has announced stringent crackdown on tax evaders and drug dealers. In meeting.
Plans were unveiled to publish names of tax evaders in newspapers and freeze their accounts. Minister emphasised grave threat tax evasion poses to nation’s prosperity, vowing stern action against offenders.
He lauded efforts to combat drug dealers and instructed authorities to intensify crackdown, citing their menace to country’s future.
Furthermore, government planned to deploy competent police officers to bolster operations against drug peddlers and tax evaders, initially focusing on Karachi and Hyderabad.
Measures to enhance prosecution and investigation, awarding of prizes to top performers and proposals for biometric vehicle registration were also discussed.
