KARACHI: Sindh government has decided to remove District Municipal Corporation (DMC) administrators’ in Karachi and Hyderabad. Sources said that Sindh government would take MQM-P into confidence before announcing removal of officers. Government would remove DMC East, Korangi and Hyderabad administrators as ECP has declared appointment of all administrators against rules.

Development came after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf filed plea in Sindh High Court (SHC) against appointment of Karachi Administrator Saif-ur-Rehman and three DMC chiefs. SHC issued notices to Chief Secretary Sindh, Secretary Local Government and Election Commission of Pakistan ordering them to submit responses on matter on January 4. PTI leader Bilal through his lawyer advocate Shahab Imaam filed plea claiming that appointments were politically influenced as all three DMC administrators are members of MQM-P Raabta Committee.  Appointment of administrators is to influence upcoming Local Government polls, application read. It added that administrators were appointed despite prohibition on transfers and postings after issuance of Local Government polls schedule. Plea added that Sindh government and MQM-P are ridiculing electoral rules and regulations. PTI leader urged court to nullify “Unlawful” appointments.
