Sindh govt fixes price of flour at Rs 95 per kg

Karachi: Sindh government announced provision of flour at Rs 95 per kilogram in market. Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and Food Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla addressing press conference along with flour millers said that price of flour will be reduced from Rs 160 to Rs 95 per kg in open market.
Sharjeel said that poor and deserving people will be able to buy flour for 65 rupees per kg. He said government is trying to make flour cheaper in open market.
He said that flour prices have gone up a lot, 460 trucks are supplying cheap flour in Karachi every day and 0.6 million bags of 10 kg are being given daily.
Sindh government is giving billions of rupees in subsidy for provision of cheap flour, there is flour crisis in whole country. Sindh is only province where flour is available at 65 rupees per kg.
Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that Sindh Chief Minister and PPP leadership took notice of flour crisis, gave orders to find out reasons why flour is becoming expensive. He said flour mill owners demanded that their quota should be increased and provincial government has enhanced quota of millers following instructions of Chief Minister.
