KARACHI: Sindh Ministry of Education banned transfer of teachers and other staff for upcoming Local Government (LG) polls Karachi and Hyderabad division. As per details, Education Ministry issued notification, notification states that there will be complete ban on any transfer of teachers and other staff till completion of second phase of LG polls.

Ministry further stated that teachers will perform duties as presiding officers in upcoming LG polls in Karachi and Hyderabad division.

Earlier, Ahead of Karachi and Hyderabad Local Government polls, Election Commission of Pakistan made an important announcement. Election Commission stated in its notification that nomination papers of candidates will not be filed for upcoming Karachi and Hyderabad LG polls.

In its verdict, Commission announced to organise LG polls in all districts of Karachi and Hyderabad on January 15. ECP also directed Interior Ministry, IGP Sindh to provide security for LG elections in Karachi and Hyderabad on January 15.

Sindh High Court ordered Election Commission to immediately release schedule for LG polls in Karachi and Hyderabad.
