Sindh Gov takes notice of ‘torture’ on journalists at NICVD

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori sought report from Health Secretary regarding hospital management’s ill-treatment with journalists at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Hospital in Karachi. According to details, Kamran Tessori took notice of NICVD management’s ill-treatment with journalist and sought report of incident with Health Secretary Syed Mansoor Abbas Rizvi.
Kamran Tessori stressed that such incidents cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed Health Secretary of Sindh to identify the individuals involved in violence against journalists and take immediate necessary action against them.
Caretaker Information Minister Muhammad Ahmad Shah contacted affected journalists and assured them of transparent investigation of incident. Caretaker Minister also directed South head and directed him to carry out facts by analysing CCTV footage cameras of hospitals. Last year, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi suspended station head officer involved in alleged torture of journalists in Kamoke.
