Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Ladislav Stienhübel, where both discussed bilateral relations, educational exchange programs, and trade partnerships.
According to the Sindh CM’s spokesperson, the discussions also focused on potential investments in industrial and technological sectors. “There are vast opportunities for investment in Sindh’s manufacturing and industrial sectors,” the Chief Minister stated, emphasizing that the Czech Republic could significantly contribute to these areas.
The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to further strengthen bilateral relations. Ambassador Stienhübel highlighted his country’s expertise in coal-to-gas technology and informed the Chief Minister about the Czech investors’ interest in projects in Thar. “We welcome Czech investors with open arms,” said Murad Ali Shah.
He added, “It is time to enhance our longstanding diplomatic ties through trade.” The Chief Minister shared that he had visited coal mines in the Czech Republic and was eager to use that experience to boost investments in Sindh.
He proposed a “run-of-the-river” power plant project in Sukkur, which could directly supply electricity to the area. The Czech envoy assured that he would bring investors to explore opportunities in Sindh and visit potential investment sites.
The meeting is being seen as a pivotal step in advancing trade and economic cooperation between the two regions.
