Sindh CM briefs UAE delegation on flood devastation

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that floods have thoroughly devastated kharif crops in province. Talking with a delegation of UAE headed by Hamoud Abdullah Al Junaibi Secretary-General of Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) he informed, “We have to save people from natural calamity but to rehabilitate them”.
“We want to drain water out of agriculture lands immediately to get them prepare for cultivation of rabi crop,” he said. “We have to face food problem if we fail to sow wheat crop in time,” he said. UAE delegation assured full support to people of Sindh including providing tents, food items and extending help in rehabilitation of flood victims. “A charity programme is being organised in Dubai on September 10 for help of flood victims of Pakistan,” Hamoud Abdullah Al Junaibi said. UAE delegation later went for an aerial view of province to see devastation wreaked by calamitous flooding.
