Sindh braces for more rains today: PMD

Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted more rains for Sindh for tomorrow after Monday's forecast showed rain and thundershowers in various areas of the province.

These included Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Mirpur Khas, Thatta, Chhor, Mithi, Umerkot, Badin, Hyderabad, Karachi and Tharparkar, according to the Pakistan Meterological Department (PMD). The PMD predicted that while mainly hot and humid weather was likely to prevail over the other parts of the province, rain and thundershowers will continue in Mirpur Khas, Thatta, Mithi, Umerkot, Badin, Hyderabad, Karachi and Tharparkar on Tuesday.

There was light to heavy rainfall with strong winds in different areas of Karachi today. According to the Meteorological Department, winds were blowing at a speed of 54km per hour in Karachi. The rainfall also disrupted the flow of traffic in the city.

Among some of the areas to have received rainfall were DHA, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Malir, Landhi, Bahadurabad and Tariq Road. It also rained in Bahria Town, Nooriabad Super Highway, Scheme 33, Gulshan-e-Maymar and Gulshan-e-Hadeed.
