Sindh's anti-corruption department has moved 136 cases to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) after the Supreme Court invalidated the amendments to NAB laws. In a 2-1 majority ruling, the Supreme Court upheld the PTI chief's petition, challenging changes made to the country's accountability laws during the previous Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government's tenure.
The court also reinstated corruption cases against public officeholders that had been closed due to the NAB law amendments.
Notable cases, including the Dawood University corruption case, Works and Services' XEN corruption case, and various references related to education, revenue, irrigation, and livestock, have been handed over to NAB. It's important to mention that the caretaker federal government has contested the Supreme Court's September 15 decision that nullified the amendments to the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO), 1999, which governs NAB.
