SHIKARPUR: A local court in Shikarpur approved 14-day judicial remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ali Amin Gandapur in provocative speech case. Former Minister on Kashmir Affairs was produced before special magistrate by police amid tight security. Police sought his physical remand in case but their plea was rejected by judge, who sent PTI leader to Sukkur Central Jail on judicial remand.
Court has directed police to produce Gandapur before it again on April 26. Case was registered against PTI stalwart on complaint of citizen named Amanullah over anti-state speeches and tweets.
Day earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore handed over former Minister to Sindh police over transit remand. ATC judge Abhar Gul Khan had heard case and approved his two-day transit remand.
