RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that policies of government has pushed national economy to brink of collapse. In series of tweets, former Interior Minister said that Pakistan was unable to get financial assistance from International Monetary Fund and foreign countries but Cabinet of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif continued to swell.
Prevailing situation has worsened to point that after Allah, only Supreme Court could save country, he said. Early election could ensure stability. Pakistan has technically defaulted on international liabilities but formal announcement was to be made, he said. He bemoaned that inflation reached historic high. Predicting massive protests against government, he said people daily staged demonstrations outside Nawaz Sharif’s residence in London but he had no compunction.
