PARIS: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva of fulfilling all requirements under stalled loan programme, saying releasing withheld tranche would bring economic stability to Pakistan and provide relief to people.

He made these remarks during meeting with IMF Chief on sidelines of 'Summit for New Global Financing Pact' in French capital as Pakistan is trying to rescue IMF deal set to expire on June 30.

Shehbaz noted that Islamabad had met all conditions/responsibilities required for 9th review and swift disbursement of funds would greatly boost steps taken by government to stabilise economy.

During meeting, IMF Managing Director informed PM of about process related to final approval of 9th review by executive board.

Meeting comes after it was earlier reported that government had requested meeting between Shehbaz and Georgieva.

A day before this request, it had emerged that ongoing talks between two sides had failed, meaning that country would no more get any money from world's top lender as current programme expires on 30th of this month.
