Shehbaz Sharif returns home, chairs important meetings

LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Lahore after completing his tour to France and London.  After reaching Lahore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would consult legal team to discuss situation regarding Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification in wake of new legislation.

He will also hold consultative meetings with senior party leaders to discuss political situation of country. Shehbaz Sharif chaired meeting regarding difficulties faced by citizens after downpour in Lahore. Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif and Minister for Railway and Aviation Khawaja Saad Rafique exchanged views over country political situation. During meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and issues pertaining to Ministry of Railway. Premier will also consult legal team to discuss situation regarding Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification in wake of new legislation.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Secretary, officers of LWMC, WASA and Lahore Commissioner also attended meeting at Model Town. Babus briefed Prime Minister on waterlogging and urban flooding in Lahore due to heavy rain. Prime Minister sought detailed report on this issue. Briefing was also given on security and cleanliness campaign for Eidul Azha. Prime Minister directed concerned officers to remain vigilant during Eid days.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif had left for France at invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. During his visit, he participated in New Global Financing Pact Summit being held in Paris. Later, he went to London to attend his ailing brother and former PM Nawaz Sharif.
