Shehbaz rejects notion of guaranteed success

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that meetings with economic experts do not guarantee political success and people of Pakistan will ultimately choose their representatives in upcoming elections, expressing confidence in his party’s ability to win hearts of voters.
Speaking to reporters here, he underlined importance of diplomatic efforts in fostering relations with friendly countries.
He asserted that effective diplomacy requires collective endeavours, suggesting that country can reap substantial benefits through Special Investment Facilitation Council.
Shehbaz addressed criticisms regarding his party’s performance during its previous stint in power, stating that PML-N government actively invested in education and youth development initiatives. He asserted that party will present its manifesto outlining its vision for future soon.
Responding to questions, he criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for not conducting intra-party elections and failing to provide evidence during hearing in Supreme Court. He expressed confidence in PML-N’s leadership under Nawaz Sharif, highlighting party’s commitment to addressing future challenges, especially in realm of financial issues.
He attributes prevailing inflation to policies inherited from PTI government. He underscores stringent conditions of IMF agreement, stating that adherence was imperative to prevent economic disintegration.
Defending his party’s economic track record, Sharif pointed to challenges faced during their previous term and progress made despite them.
He criticised previous government for their policies and actions, claiming they “Poisoned” Pakistani society and “Destroyed everything.”
