AT LAST, PPP-PML-N greenlights forming govt

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples’ Party have finally reached an agreement on forming government in Centre as both parties have agreed on ‘power-sharing formula’.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has announced pivotal step towards addressing challenges facing Pakistan, stating that PPP and PML-N are joining forces to establish new government at Centre.

In joint news conference, Bilawal affirmed that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif is set to assume role of Prime Minister once more, while PPP co-Chairman is slated to become President. Alongside Shehbaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Ishaq Dar and other leaders from both parties, Bilawal emphasised urgent need to tackle nation’s crises collectively.

“Every Pakistani is facing challenges and it is our responsibility to navigate through these difficulties with strength bestowed upon us by Allah,” he remarked. Bilawal expressed gratitude for diligent efforts of joint committees comprising members from both PPP and PML-N.

He conveyed his satisfaction that these committees have effectively completed necessary groundwork, ensuring that coalition has secured required numbers to proceed with forming government.

“For upcoming presidential election, we express our gratitude to PML-N for their support towards our candidate, who will be Zardari. Together, we will unite in fight against the prevailing crises, with aim of fulfilling hopes and aspirations of Pakistani people.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to Shehbaz Sharif and his entire team for their collaboration,” stated Bilawal. PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has said the struggle of the political alliance bidding to make the next government is for the sake of the country and future generations.

Under terms of agreement, Asif Zardari, seasoned leader of PPP will ascend to presidency, marking significant return to national leadership for party.

In another key development, position of Chairman Senate will be entrusted to Peoples’ Party, underscoring their growing influence in upper echelons of government.

Moreover, presidency, symbol of national authority, will also be vested in hands of PPP, reaffirming their pivotal role in shaping country’s future trajectory. Conversely, prestigious position of Prime Minister will be held by PML-N, reflecting their enduring prominence in Pakistani politics and governance.

In bid to ensure regional representation and inclusivity, post of Chief Minister of Balochistan will be allocated to PPP, empowering them to address province’s unique challenges and aspirations.

Additionally, sources indicate that Speaker of National Assembly will hail from ranks of PML-N, further cementing their position in legislative realm.
